When I arrived in Davis, it felt like a town ripped directly out of an Archie comic book. I wanted this collection to emulate that small-town, retro feel by including vintage feeling photos. I try to emulate the essence of what it feels like to be a passenger in the backseat of a story simply passing by.
When walking around Davis at night, all the different LEDs gave it a very old-school retro vibe, plastering a smile on my face wherever I was walking through the town. The town is small and quaint, it has an old movie vibe to it, which I tried to recreate with these photos above
Davis is known for being a very agriculture-heavy area. I wanted to capture that essence with these stylistic views of the trees, farmland, and rows of crops. I always imagine them being very punchy which is how I tried to make the pictures feel
Although at the time (and currently) I do not have a license, there is something magical about driving around the countryside, it almost feels as if you are in a movie. I feel like these pictures especially emphasized a feeling of comfort, endings, and melancholy. The sunset and moody lighting for the end two fit inline with the old-timey feel of Davis itself.
